I choose stones that are interesting because of their colors, shapes and
patterns. The stones must complement each other when several are included
in one piece and work well with the size and shape of the overall design. My
hope is that when you wear one of my designs, you are pleased with its appearance
and enjoy the feeling of wearing original handcrafted jewelry.
Many of my pendants and earrings incorporate a very time consuming
and labor intensive technique called piercing. This process involves
cutting open spaces in the metal to reveal the design. After attaching my
original design to the metal I drill a small hole in each of the areas that
need to be removed (sometimes 50 or more). A small thread sized saw blade
is guided through each hole and each space is sawed out until the entire
design is revealed. Each item is then finished, signed and ready
to be enjoyed.
